Description

Jenquip EC-09 Electronic Plate Meter

The Jenquip EC-09 Electronic Plate Meter is an accurate and robust grass measuring tool designed to make measuring pasture covers quicker and easier.

Unlike a manual plate meter, the EC-09 automatically records each drop and calculates the average pasture cover, displaying the result in kg DM/ha. Different pasture cover calculation formulas can be entered into the unit, with the selected formula remaining in use until it is changed.

Once a paddock has been measured, the calculated cover is displayed on the unit and can then be manually recorded in your grassland management system, such as PastureBase Ireland.

Key Features:

Automatically records each plate meter reading.
Calculates and displays average pasture cover in kg DM/ha.
Allows different pasture cover calculation formulas to be entered.
Selected calculation formula remains stored until changed.

No bottom plastic component to work loose.
Retained battery holder prevents it from falling out.

Straightforward to operate and easy to understand.

Why Measure Grass?

Grass is one of the most cost-effective feeds available to livestock, and regular measurement allows farmers to make more informed decisions about how it is allocated and managed.

Recording regular farm covers can help farmers:

Monitor the quantity of grass available.
Identify paddocks with grass surpluses or deficits.
Make better grazing and rotation decisions.
Inform fertiliser and silage decisions.
Monitor individual paddock performance.
Improve utilisation of grazed grass.
Track grass production throughout the year.
