Maximise the Value of Your Slurry with our Slurry Hydrometer. Our Slurry Hydrometer provides quick, accurate readings of slurry dry matter content, helping you calculate its true nutrient value.
By knowing the exact nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) content, you can apply slurry more precisely—improving crop performance, reducing waste, and cutting down on expensive chemical fertilisers. This helps the farmer save costs so he can invest in other parts of the farm and make use of valuable slurry.
Simple to use with clear readings, suitable for on-farm assessments. Read off your Nutrient Card to get the N,P,K values.
How to Use the Slurry Hydrometer:
- Mix the slurry well before taking a sample to ensure an even distribution of solids.
- Fill a tall, bucket/container with the mixed slurry.
- Gently lower the hydrometer into the slurry sample and allow it to float freely.
- Take the reading at the point where the surface of the slurry meets the scale on the hydrometer.
- Refer to the calibration chart (supplied with the hydrometer) to convert the reading into dry matter percentage and nutrient values.
- Now you know the N,P,K value of your slurry. You can now decide where you want to spread this slurry and the application rate.
Why Should I use a Slurry Hydrometer:
- A hydrometer measures the dry matter content of slurry (N, P, K value)
- This optimises slurry application you know how much to apply and where to apply it
- Helps reduce fertiliser costs when you know you have high value slurry
- Improves crop performance the higher quality slurry be applied correctly leads to higher growth yields
- No more guessing (you know the values of your slurry)
