Stock Description: Here we have a very good group of strong Friesian type in calf heifers. They come from a spring calving herd and were selected to convert to autumn calvers. They are well grown and show great width and strength yet exhibit dairy character. They are AI sired by Genus or LIC sires out of Hol/Fr x Cross bred cows. The mature weight of the herd would be 520kg but these heifer will most likely mature into 550 kg cows. They are due to start calving 10th August and in calf to Friesian stock bull who ran with them for just 50 days so all due by end Sep at the latest.
Production Capacity: The herd produces just shy 6000 litres on a grass based spring calving system, these heifer will mature to produce higher yields on a more intensive system.
Age & Lactation: The heifers will be calving in at 27-28 months of age, well grown to handle large herd life.
Health Status: The herd is not vaccinated but monitors disease through regular milk testing. The heifers are located in a 12 month tb testing area.
